Guy Groseille is a writer who is dying to be published. But he is lazy and, to put it bluntly, dreadful. His novella, Love's Alchemy, is almost unreadable.
But he is nevertheless approached by Dr. Norman Norton, an ex-poet and book seller, who has a plan - or, rather, a Plot, which will make them both infamous.
